Uniting Aviation
Bringing Air Transport Partners Together

Editorial Calendar

Want to be featured or advertise in one of ICAO’s magazines or on UnitingAviation.Com?

We welcome engaging, interesting aviation-related articles that point to contributions to our Strategic Objectives. We want to bring visibility to the achievements, developments, initiatives, events and partnerships that are taking place in this community. These are online, community-driven platforms that bring new aviation partners together and highlight the collaborations of existing ones.

We are looking for content that can be featured in one of our speciality magazines and on this digital platform. Though we are interested in general-interest pieces, below you can find some more specific subject areas that we share.  We are available to answer questions, through either our contact page or by messages sent to [email protected].

There are, in commercial air transport today, the highest number of aircraft orders ever registered. Over the next twenty years, these new aircraft will need to be commanded by qualified pilots, maintained by skilled technicians, and managed by competent air traffic controllers, but the global air transportation system will need to be supported by new, up-to-date and technology-savvy, personnel.  Not only does ICAO’s Training Report magazine highlight ICAO’s efforts to prepare for these demands, but it highlights the aviation training developments and initiatives in every area of the industry including: aerodromes; air navigation services; air transport; environment; flight safety; safety management; security and facilitation.

The 2019 issues of Training Report Magazine will feature these themes:

Innovative Tools and Technology in Aviation Training

Return on Investment for Training

  • Deadline for content submissions: 2 September 2019
  • Deadline for advertising copy:  10 October 2019
  • Distribution: 15 November 2019

Aviation security is a critical pillar in the growth and sustainability of the global aviation industry. When we began adopting an international framework for addressing acts of unlawful interference, we assumed a leadership role in developing aviation security policies and measures at the international level. Though global aviation security remains one of our key objectives, all of ICAO’s initiatives in the field of aviation security rely, both globally and regionally, on cooperation amongst States and all other stakeholders. The overarching goal is to enhance global security by implementing uniform security measures around the world, a goal that cannot be achieved without commitment by all concerned.

We are looking for content that supports these efforts in the following areas:

  • Facilitation
  • Implementation, Support and Development
  • Air Cargo Security and Facilitation
  • Traveller Identification
  • Public Key Directory (PKD)

We took a leadership role in harmonizing an air transport framework that  focuses on economic policies and supporting activities. An economically viable civil aviation system (including airlines, airports, air navigation services providers, etc.) with economic efficiencies and transparencies that allows for funding aviation infrastructure and other investment needs, as well as technology transfer and capacity building that supports the growth of air transport benefits all stakeholders.

We are looking for content to support this effort in the following areas:

  • Aviation Data
  • Economic Analyses and Forecasting
  • Infrastructure Management; developing aviation infrastructure for airport operations and air navigation services
  • Optimizing and improving air transport connectivity (including market access, consumer protection, etc)
  • Air service negotiations (whether they are bilateral, regional or plurilateral)
  • Air Cargo Economic Policy

Improving the environmental performance of aviation is a challenge ICAO takes very seriously. As we fulfilled our responsibilities, we developed a range of standards, policies and guidance material for the application of integrated measures to address aircraft noise and emissions embracing technological improvements, operating procedures, proper organization of air traffic, appropriate airport and land-use planning, and the use of market-based options. To meet our environmental goals, we need the whole aviation community to contribute to reducing civil aviation’s impact on the environment.

We are looking for content that supports this work in the following areas:

  • Global Market-based Measures (CORSIA)
  • Environmental trends
  • Aircraft noise
  • Air quality
  • Technology goals and certification standards
  • State Action PlansClimate Neutral Initiative
