Following successful negotiations, the United Kingdom and China have signed a bilateral agreement that will more than double the number of flights between the two countries.
Under the new agreement, the number of weekly passenger flights can increase from the current maximum of 40 per week to up to 100, with no limit on the number of all-cargo services. The arrangement will increase trade, create jobs and boost the economies in both countries.
Though until now airlines could only serve six destinations in each country, this restriction has also been lifted, resulting in services that can be operated between any point in the UK and any point in China.
