2018 Young Aviation Professional Participants Announced

The competitive selection process for 2018 Young Aviation Professionals Programme was officially completed on 26 February 2018, with the arrival of the three successful candidates. Selected from among over 400 applicants, Ms. Monika Kopoczynska (Poland), Ms. Valentina Chamrai (France and Russia) and Ms. Karine Ung (Canada) will contribute to one or more of the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Strategic Objectives, focusing on the inter-relationships between the work of ICAO experts and the work of their counterparts at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Airports Council International (ACI).

The Young Aviation Professionals Programme is a special development programme targeted for the next generation of aviation professionals. It is led by ICAO in conjunction with IATA and ACI. The 12-month annual programme is open to candidates who have advanced university qualifications and a minimum of two years professional working experience in aviation-related regulatory activities and/or the air transport industry. Once they have completed the programme, participants are well positioned to help satisfy the rapidly growing talent and innovation needs of the global aviation community.

Since it was launched in 2013, a total of 8 female and 5 male young professionals representing all regions of the world have been selected for the Programme.

The recruitment campaign for the 2019 Young Aviation Professionals Programme is expected to be announced on the ICAO careers site in early September 2019. Candidates interested in being considered for this Programme are encouraged to subscribe to ICAO’s social media channels – Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn – for future announcements.
